Ella Beeman Obituary

Ella Mary Beeman was born on October 31, 1931 in Choccolocco, Alabama to the late Aaron and Pauline Bell. Ella was the oldest of nine children. As a child she attended the Alabama Public School System. Ella was better known as Granny, Gramz, Ms. Ella or Witchie by her close friends and family.

In August 1951 Ella married Obadiah Beeman and to this union ten (10) wonderful children, five boys and five girls. They decided to leave the warm South and head North where they found their new home here in the good ole state of Michigan.

Ella was a loving, caring, giving, mindful, breathtaking, benevolent, fighter and busy bodied person. She loved her family. If there was anything you wanted or needed all you had to do was ask and she would find a way to get it to you. Ella believed and served GOD faithfully and she made sure that her children did the same. Baptized at an early age and after relocating to Inkster she joined Amity Baptist Church where she sang in numerous choirs and helped on committees when called upon. Attending church was Ella's pride and joy, she was there every Sunday until her health started to fail and she was no longer able to attend services. But she did not give up on her GOD.

A very active lady, Ella worked for American Airlines Sky Chef as a Food Preparer for 25 years, retiring in September 1994. Being active and able she couldn't sit still for long. One month later she went to work for Khol's Department Store as seasonal help and continued working there for 18 years. WOW! What a woman! Other activities she regularly enjoyed included walking, bowling, playing cards, going on trips, running with the grandkids, and hanging out with her children, family, and friends just having fun.

She was preceded in death by her husband Obadiah Beeman, children: Harold Beeman, Cynthia Graves, and Deborah Grafton, grandchildren: Harold Beeman Jr., Andre Graves, and Deon Booker, siblings; Charles, Julius, James, Aaron Jr II, Clarence and Robert Bell, Florence Williams, and Annie Chatman.

Ella leaves to cherish her memory: Mary Reeves (Terrance), Glen Beeman, Darek Beeman (Lerma), Beverly Mitchell (Lloyd), Marcus Beeman, Kathy Ervin (Michael), Michael Beeman (Toye), Michael Grafton (son-in-law), grandchildren: Ava, Quante, Corey, Glen Jr., Telvey, Kanealia, Kuemane, Salina, Jazmine, Darek Jr., Brandon, Chevon, Victoria, Marcus Jr., Cortez, TaNeisha, Terrel, Coran, Tiana, Courtney, and Shelby, 38 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brother-in-law: Roman Chatman, sister-in-law: Lorene Bell and Pat Bell, special cousin Cecil Williams (Bert) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
