Edward Allen Sluter was born August 9, 1937 in White Castle, Louisiana to the late Edward Allen and Rosie Harris-Morgan both of whom preceded him in death, along with his wife Denise, Stepmom Geraldine Allen and Stepfather Theodore Sluter.
Edward was the only child. He accepted Christ at an early age and at 11 years old was baptized at Second Baptist Church in Inkster, Michigan. Edward attended Inkster High School. He ran track in the 100 yard dash, 220 yard dash and 440 yard dash. He was the fastest track runner in Inkster High School history! He ran so fast that he would pass up his opponents, look back and wave at them.
In 1957 he graduated Inkster High School with Honors and went on to Akron University from 1957-1959. He also went to Howard Training Academy in White Castle, Louisiana for one year.
A carpenter and entrepreneur, he could build ANYTHING from houses to garages, etc. His hands were his power; there was nothing he couldn't do. He loved to travel. He was a member of Interstate Nomads Camping Club which he traveled all around the world.
Ed was a very spiritual person. He was a member of New Jerusalem Church where he worshipped until his sickness.
Spontaneous, adventurous, loving, and just an all around guy, that would give you his shirt off of his back. And dress!?! Boy could He dress! He stayed sharp all the time. Edward was a very good cook, those fried biscuits and gumbo will be missed.
He was Uncle Eddie to a lot of people. People looked up to him; that just shows how much of a good person he was. Edward loved music, family camping, his RV and his gadgets & toys. He was a hard working man who just loved life!
Edward made his transition on November 6, 2018 at 7:40pm at heartland Healthcare in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. His legacy will live on forever through our hearts.
