Diann Chandler Obituary

Diann Chandler Johnson was born January 22,1958 to Timothy and Pearl Chandler, who preceded her in death, in Inkster, Michigan. Diann was the middle child of seven who grew up close in age of her siblings, which means they shared everything...clothes, food, and their parents' attention.

Diann was STUBBORN!! Her parents knew it and that didn't change as she grew into adulthood. No one told Diann what to do or how to live. She did things her way and lived her life on her own terms. She was also kind and greeted everyone with a "Hello Darling", a hug and a kiss. When she showed up for family gatherings with that infectious smile, you just felt better and knew you were going to have a good time because she was funny...all of the Chandlers are!

One thing anyone who got to know Diann quickly found out, was that she was not to be trifled with. If you crossed Diann or anyone she cared about she would let you have it...she did not mince words or made sure you knew exactly how she felt. We respected Diann's honesty and the way she lived in the moment, no apologies, no shame.

Diann's tenacity made her a fighter in life and with her illness. She fought cancer right up to the end, still fussing at her nieces, visitors, and nurses to have things down HER WAY. Diann fought right up until April 27, 2019 when she went home to be with the Lord.

Diann leaves to mourn, her loving husband Tony, three children: Michael (Trina), Quinn, ReNesha, nine grandchildren: Brianna, Brittany, Briasia, Mikaela, Jordyn, Adynne, Brooklyn, Adore, and Josiah; two great-grandchildren: Marcus Jr. and Marley; seven siblings: Terry, Denise (EJ), Timothy Jr., Wanda, Jeffrey (Carrie), and Dewayne; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

We loved Diann's style-always bright, colorful, and fitted to show off her beautiful figure. We all could depend on a weekly Facebook post of Diann posing in a beautiful outfit, every hair in place, and that gorgeous smile that lit up our lives every time we saw her. If we could learn anything from Diann we would live in the moment doing things that make us happy, don't "take no mess" and hug and always kiss everyone who means something to us. Diann did it her way and sometimes we should too! Previous Events Memorial Service MAY 5. 11:00 AM (ET) Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home-Westland 4670 S. Inkster Rd.
