Deborah Friday Obituary
Deborah Denise Friday was born on November 28, 1956 on Columbia, South Carolina to the late Solomon Jenkins and Evelyn Jenkins. Deborah was preceded in death by her daughter Erica Friday in 1982.
Deborah graduated from M.J. Keenan High School on May 31, 1976. Deborah was the best swimmer. She taught her older brother and her little sister to swim. Deborah was known "to swim like a fish." She was a tomboy. She would protect her children and siblings.
Deborah Jenkins married Charles Friday in 1978; to this union four children were born, Samantha Jenkins, Erica Friday, Monica Friday and Charles Friday II.
Deborah moved to Inkster, Michigan in 1984 with her mother, two of her brothers and sisters. Deborah was a true servant to people. She would help anyone, whether she was helping her neighbor on Moore Court or having friends over for a good meal.
Deborah was a people person, no one was a stranger to her. She worked in the food industry for over 10 years and was also a direct care worker until she was paralyzed from a stroke in March 2003. In this time she was a faithful member of the Romulus Senior Center for the last 15 years. She made many memories with her grandchildren, spoiling them and still cooking.
Deborah leaves precious memories with her mother, Evelyn Jenkins; four children, Samantha Jenkins (Keith), Monica (Ronald) Cole, Charles (Wanda) Friday, sisters, Jerylean and Patricia, brothers; Larry, Bobby, Anthony, Robert, and Henry Jr.; grandchildren; Brandon, Kenyah, Tinity, Grandtez, Michelle, and Kimberly; as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends.
