Danielle Simmons Obituary
Danielle Ashley Simmons, daughter of Wendy Drew and Melvin Hooks who preceded her in death, was born on January 25, 1987 in Garden City, Michigan. She was a graduate of Romulus High School and received an Associate's Degree in criminal justice in January 2018.
Danielle accepted Christ at a very early age and was a member of Peoples Community Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend.
Danielle affectionately known by her family as "Dani Girl" enjoyed spending time with her family. Every holiday was an opportunity to create new memories with the people she loved most. Always willing to show up early and help prepare holiday meals, Danielle learned to cook like her mother.
Danielle had a diverse group of loving friends who knew her as "Boonie". Always a Samaritan, she would sacrifice her needs to help the people she loved. To know her was to love her and she never met a person she did not befriend. Dancing was one of her favorite pass times.
Danielle shared her life with Winston Walton who adored and loved her. Through this companionship two beautiful children, Amir Walton (15 months) and Amina Walton (2 months) were born.
Danielle was preceded in death by her grandmother Gale Simmons who she loved dearly, her aunt Sandra Simmons and uncle Dwight "Kevin" (Vanessa) Simmons. She leaves to cherish her parents Wendy Drew and Joseph Drew Sr., for siblings Joseph Drew Jr., Chelsea Roper, Lauren Hooks-Woods, and Ce'Aira Hooks. One niece Autumn Shaffer. Great Grandmother Marcella Long, a host of aunts, uncles and cousins that were close to her heart.
