Bessie Willingham Obituary

Bessie Mae Willingham was born to the union of Willie D. Outler and Bessie Outler on October 14, 1942 in Vidalia, Georgia. Bessie attended the Vidalia Public School System. She received Christ at an early age and continued to serve him for the rest of her life. Before moving to Detroit, Bessie's family moved to Macon, Georgia.

In 1962 Bessie met the love of her life, George Willingham. From this union three children were born, Mary, Darrell, and Diana. Bessie and George remained married until his passing and she never remarried.

The only job Bessie had was babysitting. Bessie babysat over half the children in Inkster. Loved them, nurtured them, and she took good care of them. She also raised just about all of her grandchildren and was raising two great grandchildren until her health prevented her from caring for them. She was a happy person even in her sickness, always giving advice to help someone out and directing them in the right direction.

Preceding her in death was her mother, father, and her granddaughter Cheyenne. Bessie made her transition to be with the Lord on June 12, 2019 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She leaves to cherish her memories, her children; Mary Holt, Darrell Willingham, and Diana Madison, one brother, Dorris Jean Outler (Catherine); 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other loving relatives and close friends.
