Allan was born on August 20,1945 in Kellyton, Alabama. He migrated to Michigan with his mother and grandparents when he wa a toddler. Moses and Mattied married and raised five children together in Inkster, Michigan. Allan attended public schools in Inkster and Dearborn Heights. He left high school before he received a diploma, but always tenacious and determined to further his eduction, he completed an Associates Degree in 1991 at Jackson Community College; then later Baschelor's Degree from Spring Arbor College. Allan initially wanted to work as a paralegal. allan married Irma Jean Rucker in 1965 and to this union Alane Mariea was born. He was also the proud father of Damus DeMarco. Allan had many careers during his lifetime. Some not always socially acceptable; but always with the determination to succeed and particularly to excel to entrepreneurship. He once owned a small landscaping business; andin the latter years of his life, he established and maintained successfully the Bright Star Moving and Storage Company. Until the end of his life, he talked about his goal to own a fleet of trucks. At one time Allan embraced the religion of Islam and added Bey to his surname. Th belief and practices assoicated wit hIslam waas his bedrock and sustained him during some of his most difficult years. As a child Allan was mischievous in a playful way. As an adult Allan was inquistitive; intelligent; and at time a provoker, believing himself to be the ultimate finesser, wise to the game.. As with every individual, Allan wentthrough many developmental stages during his lifetime. He experienced the traditional roles of son; brother; husband; father; grandfather; uncle; cousin and friend. During the last 12 years of his life Allan was th glowing example of redemption. He settled into a more moderate lifestyle and provided an undeniable example of what can be accomplished when a person is determined to schange the course of their life. When you think a Allan's legacy, share with pride the knowledge that he achieved the kind of success he had been chasing during his 75 years. Every August 20th, on his birthday, Allan celebrated with a crab leg feast with his bonus son, Erin. To his family and friends, remembe him on August 20th witha crab leg feast of your own. We love you Allan and will miss heraring your laugh and sharing intellectual conversations peppered with your own special style of wit and humor. Although much too soon, take your well earned rest. Previously departed family are daughter Alan Mariea; father Moses, Sr; sister Shirley Shockley; maternal and paternal grandparents, Navelus and Alice Pearson; and Nelson and Carrie White.
