Alexander Hayes Obituary
Alexander Hayes Sr., affectionally known as "Barbeque, Alex, or Al," was born on June 16,1942, Marion Arkansas, to the union of the late Benjamin and Margaret(Flex) Hayes. The family relocated to the city of Inkster, MI in 1956. Alexander passed away September 8, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Alexander graduated from Inkster High School. Alexander had three children from his late ex-wife Verla Hayes, and they are: Alexander II, Sherita and Geralda. On March 30,1982, Alexander was united in marriage to Essie Rucker-Hayes. From this union one son and one daughter was gained; they are Twann Alek Hayes, and Arnika Davis.
Alexander word for Ford Motor Company for approximately 20 years, and later opened Hayes Collision, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. Ink his leisure time, Alexander enjoyed; building CB radios, barbeque grills, go-carts, and practicing karate, riding his motorcycle, traveling with his RV club, attending jazz concerts and listening to jazz music with his wife Essie, making weekly visits to the flea market, relaxing in the park, and spending time wit his family and friends.
Alexander was a proud member of High Praise Cathedral of Faith in Inkster,MI. Alexander is preceded in death by his: wife Essie Hayes, son Alexander Hayes II, daughter Geralda Hayes-Rhan, brothers: George, Willie, Herman, Benjamin, Albert, and Walter, sister: Memphie, Lessie B., Lorenia, Jean, Alma, and Jacqueline. Alexander leaves his three children to cherish his memory: Sherita Wade (Walter), Arnika Davis (Alvin), and Tawann Hayes (Keiona).
Alexander is also survived by his 13 grandchildren to cherish his memory: Marita, Marc, Ronald II, Denisha, Mariah, Alexis, Gerelle, Jamar, Kyra, Curon, Tawann II, Brielle, and Elijah: and his two great grandchildren: Nazir and Lani. Additionally, Alexander is survived by his brother, Oscar Hayes (Gwendolyn), sister, Margaret Hayes, and brother Clarence Hayes (Janice).
