At Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home-Westland it has been a privilege and an honor to service Southeast Michigan for over 40 years. It is our desire that our services support you at your time of need, help guide your family through the difficult time and help to make your memories of your loved one more meaningful.

Our experienced staff is available to assist you whether it is helping with pre-need arrangements, at-need arrangements, transferring remains domestic and international or caring for your loved ones. Gregory B. McClary, CFSP, a native of South Carolina brings over 35 years of experience in the funeral profession. He is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the States of Michigan, South Carolina, New York, and Indiana. Gregory is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta, Georgia and currently holds an Associate of Arts degree in Biblical Studies, and an Associates Degree in Business Administration.
Gregory is the owner/president of McClary Funeral Services, Inc and is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Michigan Funeral Directors Association (2008-09-2012-2013) President, District One), Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP), since 2005 and an Ambassador of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. Member and serve on the Board of Directors of the International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association, Indiana Funeral Directors Association and National Association of Funeral Directors and Morticians. Member of the John Maxwell Team and Insight Certified Celebrant.
As President & Funeral Director, I will always work along with,our great experienced staff to provide personalized, full services, not just by our standards! But by yours!.
Gregory is very compassionate with each family he serves and is dedicated to making their difficult time much more bearable.
My desire is to make a difference in this profession. It’s my mission to be a light in this world by providing the best service to each family entrusted to my care. I stand on my mother’s words "everyone may not be able to afford the best, but you make sure you give them your best".

Denelda Dawkins
Vice-President

A retiree of Ford Motor Company, this feisty 86 year old is the Senior Staff member at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home - Westland
Lena's formal education was indeed a journey, as she attended elementary school in Arkansas, high school at The Piney Woods Country Life School in Piney Woods, Mississippi, and college at Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon making Michigan her home, she attended Washtenaw Community College and Madonna University.
Her volunteer work logs with Henry Ford Hospital and the Fox Theatre, which include many hours of hard work and loving-kindness. Lena's giving back didn't stop there, as she served as a member of the Board of Directors at the Methodist Children's Home for many years.
Lena serves as a Deacon at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church.

Marjorie joined the staff in April 2016. She has an Associate's Degree in Science and is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science at Wayne State University. Marjorie has the act of compassion and care while working with families and appreciates the opportunity of being able to help families through such difficult times, where their ability to help themselves are limited. Her attention to detail and work ethic are a real asset to the Chapel of the Chimes.

Karl Todd
Licensed Funeral Director

Robert has 20 years of background experience with the funeral business and joined the Chapel of the Chimes for the past two years. He assists in a variety of duties from serving families to maintaining the building and vehicles. Robert has a background in private security and served with the Wayne County Sheriff C.E.R.T Division .

Sharon have been a Family Service Assistant for 6 years at the Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home. She loves people and get gratification from seeing that the families are comforted and their needs are met. I enjoy talking to the families.
Sharon attend Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit and is a member of the Women & Girls Choir, Group# 7 and Marr-o-Nots Fellowship, as well as an active member of the Detroit Mid-City Lions Club for 28 years.

Elizabeth has been with the Chapel of the Chimes for about five years. Elizabeth and her family belongs to Burning Bush International Ministries. She is a Licensed Missionary 2019 graduated from Excel Academy for the COGIC. Elizabeth holds many awards for excelling in network marketing and outstanding work performance. Elizabeth really really loves what she do and enjoys helping people and feels it is the greatest thing in the world anyone can do.

Cecilia is a native of Westland, Michigan and became a part of the Chapel of the Chimes family in the early seventies.
She holds and Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Concentration Human Resources/ Criminal Justice and a Bachelor's Degree in Cosmetology.
Cecilia loves to serve families. She appreciates the position of being able to serve families through such difficult times. Cecilia gives from the heart and doesn't mind going the extra mile to please, assist and direct families!!!

Denise is a native of Romulus, Michigan and joined the Chapel of the Chimes in September of 2015. She graduated from Belleville High School. Denise continued her education receiving degrees in Criminal Justice and Correctional Science from Washtenaw Community College. Denise performs a variety of duties from transporting families to services to aiding assistance with visitations & funeral services just to name a few. She is also a trustee and apart of the praise team at her church. Denise truly enjoys serving and providing comfort to families, ensuring the needs of the families are met.

Laura joined the Chapel of the Chimes team in the fall of 2016. She enjoys assisting families in their time of need whether she needs to be a listening ear or being a helping hand. Laura attended and graduated from the Taylor Public Schools District. When she is not assisting families, she enjoys being a mother and spending quality time with her loving children.

Randy is a native of Inkster, Michigan. Randy is a faithful member of Word of God Church Ministries in Detroit, Michigan and serves as a leader of the security team. Randy is lead staff in the personal care suite and is also a student at Wayne County Community College District.
During his leisure time, Randy enjoys working out such as jogging and bike riding. Randy have been working at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home since 2010.

Darnetta is a graduate of River Rouge High School. She received an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts from Wayne County Community College, received her Basic Standard Certificates and Associates in Banking from American Institute of Banking, and also attended University of Michigan. Darnetta enjoys working as a family service assistant.
Darnetta has been a member of St. John A.M.E. Church since childhood. She is also affiliated as a Worthy Grand Matron, Order of Eastern Star (Michigan) for over 23 years; National Financial Secretary, and Order of Eastern Star. Darnetta also does volunteer reading /activities at nursing homes.

Charles is a native of Pineville, Louisiana. He is a graduate of Pontiac Northern High School and Eastern Michigan University. Charles retired as a correctional officer and joined the Chapel of the Chimes team under the recommendation of the founding sisters Ms. Essie Williams & Ms. Lena Nichols. He performs a variety of duties here at the Chapel with pride, joy, and Christian professionalism.
