Jean Wright Obituary

Jean Elizabeth Wright, a beloved mom known for her gentle spirit, loving nature, and kindness, passed away on July 14, 2023, in Brownstown, Michigan (USA). Jean was born on December 12, 1948, in the beautiful coastal town of Oracabessa, St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies. Jean was one of 8 children to Wilfred and Bethsheba White. She was a wonderful mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, and a dear friend. She had a caring heart and was always willing to give a helping hand every time the opportunity arose.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband Joscelyn George Wright (Sonny) to whom she was married to for 46 years. From that union they had 7 children, one daughter and six sons: Audrey Wright, Joscelyn Wright Jr. (Patrick), Llewellyn Wright (Ricky), Denzil Wright, Osmond Wright (Ozzie), Desmond Wright, and Winston Wright. She has 12 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She is survived by her devoted sisters, Jennifer White, and Leslian White (Pauline), with whom she shared an unbreakable bond of love and respect. Preceded her in death are Brothers James White (George), Ellis White (John), Clifford Espeut, Anthony White (Bobo), and sister Prudent White (Peggy).

Jean's life was marked by the simple pleasures that brought joy to her and those around her. Her interests were deeply rooted in the earth, as she found great satisfaction in growing her garden. She spent countless hours tending to her plants. Her love for gardening was not just a hobby, but a passion. Her garden was a testament to her patience, dedication, and nurturing spirit. Jean had great strength and resilience. Her gentle demeanor hid her strong will and determination that saw her through many challenges in life. She faced every challenge with grace and came through stronger in the end, inspiring others with her unwavering love and kindness. Her radiant smile was a source of comfort and reassurance to all who knew her.

Jean's passing leaves a void that can never be filled. Her legacy of love, kindness, humility, and grace will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate to know her. As we remember Jean, we celebrate a life well lived, marked by generosity, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to her children, her family, and friends. Even in death, Jean's memory will continue to be a beacon of light, reminding us of the power of love, the beauty of nature, and the importance of caring for everyone around us. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who love her.
