Cynthia was the oldest of 6 siblings born to the union of Berthenia and Joe Valentine Sr. Her father preceded her in death. She graduated from Southwestern High School class of 76 and obtain her associate degree in science from Wayne County Community College.
Cynthia was known for her lasagna and tacos, and she smiled often. Cynthia had a knack for numbers and once she heard your phone number, she would have it memorized and she was not afraid to use it. She called her mother every morning and if it got too late in the day and she had not called, you knew something was wrong.
Cynthia did not have an active work life due to life lifeing but she was one of the few who still made an effort to know her neighbors and was often seen walking around the community. She didn't have much, but she was generous with what she did have. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Samuel Turner and she later moved her membership to Romulus Community Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Hiram Mc Burrows Jr.
She has three children, Marcus, Jeffery and Kandice all of Westland, MI and she was a devoted mother to all of them. She has two grandchildren Maliehya Lattimore (Charlie) of Homestead, FL and Kamony Campbell of Westland, MI; one great grand-daughter Makayla and one grandchild on the way.
Her siblings: Joyce Valentine-Dudley of Detroit; Joe Valentine Jr (Debra) of Westland; Kelvin Valentine (Cassandra) of Van Buren Township; Sharon Valentine of Romulus and Carol Valentine of Highland Park; Robert Surratt (Lorraine) of Richmond VA; and JoeDean Bobo of NC.
Devoted friend: Howard Mobley who was beside her and took care of her during her decline.
Cynthia will be missed by her mother, siblings, extended family and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
