Janice Elaine Hunter was born on August 26, 1955 to the late Rake and Luree Hunter in Opelika, Alabama. Janice was the fourth of seven children from his union.
The family later relocated to Inkster, Michigan where Janice and her siblings attended the Inkster Public School System. Janice enjoyed old school music, was an excellent softball pitcher (in her younger years), she also loved to cook and bake cakes.
Janice was baptized as a child at First Missionary Baptist Church in Romulus, Michigan. On May 12, 1973, Janice was baptized as a Jehovah Witness and served faithfully until her death.
Janice worked for the Washtenaw County Sheriff's department for many years. Later working as a caretaker in several group homes in Michigan until her health became an issue. Janice had a big heart and enjoyed making people laugh. She had a sense of humor that can't be duplicated.
In addition to her parents, Rake and Luree Hunter, two siblings, Selena "Arnette" Parker and James Elliot Hunter preceded her in death.
Janice leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters, Margaret "Dale" Gonzalez (Gilbert) and Laura "Dorothea" Dunson; two brothers, Van Magnum Hunter and Ray Clyde Hunter as well as several beloved nieces, nephews, many cousins and lots of good friends who become family.
