Gary Gambril Obituary

Gary Leon Gambril began this earthly journey on April 26, 1948. He was the fourth son born to Mae Ruby and Marcellus Gambril, both parents and his oldest brother Marcellus Leroy Jr. preceded him in death. Mae Ruby later Married Robert Paden Sr. who stepped up assisting in Gary's upbringing teaching life values.

Gary was raised in Inkster, MI, educated in the Inkster Public School System graduating from Inkster High in 1967 as an avid "State Champion" wrestler. He acquired a zest for life which prepared him for the next level of manhood, developing the character of an unselfish, loving, giving man. His spiritual growth as a child began and matured at Springhill Baptist Church, under the pastoring of reverend E. Lee. Gary served on the Usher board and developed his singing voice in the choir.

Gary joined the United States Air Force serving his country in Vietnam. Returning home he held several jobs including Ford Motor Company, U of M Hospital, and secured Tradesman status as a Plumber/Pipefitter with Local 190 for 37 years. His first female love came along in 1968, a bouncing baby girl Tanya La June'. Gary quickly became a family man giving of himself in previous martial relationships and love returned by Chante, Lisa, David, Sherine, Onika, A.J. Gary and his soul mate of 28 years Patricia Wheeler married 06/26/1993 and his second child Gary Jr was born.

Gary was a seeker of "Next", enjoying life to the fullest and doing thins HIS way. God ordered his steps but he was in charge of his stride. He enjoyed traveling, Brother Truckers Van Born Club, bowling, bid whist, music, sci-fi TV, and his all time FAVORITE passion riding his motorcycle which he proclaimed he would ride again after his multiple health challenges. Realizing he couldn't fight his fight with anyone else's armor Gary redirected his life to Christ 1/1/2011.

God dispatched his angels to carry him home on July 11, 2017 leaving to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia, his children; Tanya Watkins (Michael), Gary Gambril Jr., Michael Wheeler (Kyisha), Ebony Nettles (James) father, Robert Paden Sr., Brothers: Lenardo Gambril (Theresa), Robert Paen Jr., Juan Gambril, Arturo Gambril (Patricia), Sister; Francine Gambril (Warren), God daughter Roselyn Paden, Extended children; Shaun McCombs (Tameka), Shakelia Williams (Cecil), Sameerah McCombs, five grandchildren; Michael, Naimah, Karter, Kyrel, Kayla; two aunts Vonciel Branswell and Lillian Sturgis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends with special mention of brotherly love to Frank Williams & Willie Fox.
