Cora Gregory Obituary
CORA PARNELL-GREGORY was born on June 19, 1952 in Sledge, Mississippi to the union of James and Mary Parnell. She started her early education in the Missouri Public School system and graduated from Inkster High School after moving here in 1969. She earned her Bachelors in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University.
Cora married Charles Gregory on May 24, 1975. They were blessed with four children: Gregory, Tiffanee, Shawntez and Tishona. Family was extremely important to her, as was church and work.
She accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of 13. Cora joined Faithway Ministries Inc., on April 30, 1994 where she served as Trustee. Additionally, she was a member of the Pastor's Founder Month, birthday and the annual picnic committees.
She was employed as a manager with Michigan Works where she enjoyed helping others with job training/referrals and other career building opportunities.
Regrettably, Cora was called home on December 6, 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, James and her sister, Erma Jean.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles; her mother, Mary; her children, Greg (Melanie), Tiffanee (Shawn), Shawntez (Lena) and Tishona (Lonnie); her stepchildren, Charles Jr. and Jeri; her sisters, Sherlie, Joyce and Alberta (Michael); her brothers, Larry (Laurie) and Marvin (Inger); 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
