Chelsea Guy Obituary

Chelsea Carlotta Guy was born March 17, 1993, in Detroit, MI to Charles and Vernevia Wright- Guy. Chelsea received her education through the Wayne-Westland public Schools and graduated from John Glen High School in 2011. Chelsea was a member of the yearbook committee, contributing author to the school newspaper and she was voted best personality.

Chelsea found her passion in the health care field specifically for nursing which was inspired by her Aunt Grace Carlotta. Chelsea's goal was to become a neo-natal nurse. Chelsea continued her education at Central State University of Ohio. Chelsea received her Phlebotomy certification on June 19, 2014 and she became a Certified Nursing Assistant, on February 27, 2017. Chelsea later received a full ride scholarship to attend Washtenaw Community College to pursue her nursing degree. She was registered to start this September.

Chelsea had numerous hopes and dreams and past times. Just to name a few: drawing, traveling, music and shopping with a flair for finding discounts. She was avid about helping others find employment. Chelsea was a true social butterfly. She has active accounts with Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Chelsea was a selfie Queen.

Chelsea was dedicated back to the Lord by her parents on April 18, 1993, at Greater Grace Temple Inkster under Pastor Gary Harper. Chelsea loved Christian Education where she was an active member of the Tiny Tots Ministry. She was an active member of the youth Voices for Christ. was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost on November 16, 2014 under the leadership of Pastor McClendon. As a member of Christ Temple church, she was active in the Evangelism and Outreach Ministries. Chelsea was also an active member of the Usher Board.

In her lifetime she worked in numerous retail positions. Chelsea was a true people's person. She would light up the room with her smile. Chelsea was employed at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in the Ypsi-Ann Arbor region where she worked on the Mother-Baby unit, a position that she deeply enjoyed. Chelsea was currently employed at the University of Michigan Hospital in the Environmental Services Department.

On August 16, 2017, Chelsea Carlotta made her transition from earth to glory surrounded by her loved ones. Chelsea leaves to honor and cherish her legacy: her parents Charles and Vernevia Guy, her brother Charles Joseph Guy "CJ", who she affectionately called Fatty, her grandmother Norma Guy, her uncles Cetric (Alana) Wright, Hueytown, AL, Harry (Juanita) Johnson, godfather/uncle Christopher (Pam) Drake, her god brother and sisters: Monique Davis, Joshua Howard, Valeshia Youngblood, her special godparents, Bryant and Sherita Thomas, Chelsea's first cousins: Kaylee Danea, Lee Jordan, Zachary Lamar and Jace Michael Wright, Chelsea's best friend, Miaire Price, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and the saints of Christ Temple church who she loved dearly.

Chelsea was preceded in death by her aunt Grace Carlotta, her grandfather Joseph Guy, her grandparents Carrie and Eddie Wright and her god brothers, William and Emire Thomas.
