Aerogene Lambert Obituary
Aerogene Janet Lambert was born in Monroe, Louisiana on January 6, 1934 to the union of Samuel Bell Smith and Gwendolyn Verlett Kegler. Aerogene was the oldest of four children. Her family moved to Inkster, Michigan when she was five years old.
Aerogene attended Inkster Public Schools and later attained her GED. She worked 13 years at Ypsilanti State Hospital. She also worked at Rawsonville Ford Motor Company before retiring.
Aerogene's first marriage was to the late John McDuffie Jr. To this union four children were born: Gordon K. McDuffie (who preceded her in death), (Pam) Janell P. Kilgroe (William), John D. McDuffie (preceded her in death) (Celeste), Belinda Dickerson (the late Anthony Dickerson).
Aerogene married James M. Lambert (who preceded her in death), together living happily serving their community for over 30 years.
Aerogene was an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church where she served as financial secretary and a member of the choir. She also served on the Mother's Board and was the mother of the church.
Aerogene was member of The Order of the Eastern Star.
Aerogene professed Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of her church.
She was very active, enjoying bowling, dancing, traveling, and being with family and friends.
Aerogene was very creative, her hobbies were quilting and ceramics. She loved playing cards, especially Bid Whist. Her parents, Samuel and Verlett Smith, brother, Samuel W. Smith; sons Gordon McDuffie, John McDuffie; husband, James Lambert all preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn: her daughters, Janell Kilgroe (William), Belinda Dickerson; brother, Raymond Smith (Devaria); sister, Connee Maxwell; daughter-in-law, Celeste McDuffie and Pamela McDuffie; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
